STRAWBERRY BANANA FRUIT LEATHER W/ RAW HONEY

What's better then fresh produce? Well there are a lot of things...ahaha but I love the taste of fresh fruit. Everything always tastes so much better when the sunshine's out. Thank you Vitamin D! Fruit leather has always been my favourite snack, along side my power bars. When I found out that I could keep them raw, with all their nutrients intact, I was sooo excited and a bit pushy when it came to purchasing a dehydrator. Best investment ever!

I got this lovely honey jar from a wonderful local lady that I met last night at Jessica's Jamberry Party. Her name is Kelly and she is the creator of Bee U Organics. I also got two really cool bees wax candles. Tod and I just love drinking our Kombucha by candle light. So romantic and relaxing.

Kyri has fallen asleep on me so I am typing with one hand and my leg is falling asleep....help!

This fruit leather is super easy and is only 3 ingredients! I added a baked version along with the dehydrated version I use. Enjoy!

Strawberry Banana Fruit Leather Sweetened with Honey
The perfect snack for anyone’s lunch box

Makes 14 rolls
  • 2 cups roughly chopped strawberries
  • 1 banana, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. unpasteurized honey

(Dehydrator method)

1. Add the three ingredients to a high speed blender and blend until smooth.

2. Add paraflexx sheets to 2 dehydrator mesh trays. Pour mixture onto the two trays. Spreading it out with a spatula in a square shape. Make sure it's as thin as possible. Do not make it so thin that you can see the paraflexx sheet.

3. Dehydrate on 110° for 6 hours. Add more time if the fruit leather is still soft. Place on parchment paper and cut into strips. Roll.

4. Store in an air tight bag or container. Will last for months in the cupboard.

(Oven method)

1. Preheat oven to 200° F (93° C)

2. Add the ingredients to a high speed blender and blend until smooth.

3. Line a large rimmed cookie tray with parchment paper. Add mixture and spread out thin with a spatula.

4. Bake for 4-6 hours, until you can peal it off the parchment paper, like fruit leather. Take out of the oven.

5. Take parchment paper off of the tray. Let leather cool on parchment paper. Cut into strips and roll.

6. Store in an air tight bag or container. Will last up to 2 weeks in the cupboard.
