OUR EDMONTON VACATION

This trip was crazy. Let me tell you about it.

Tod and I wanted to give the kids a vacation to remember for their Christmas present and Tod and I had both been to the West Edmonton Mall and agreed it would be the perfect place to go. Plus Tod's sister and her family live 2 hours away so we met up with them and had a blast.

I packed ALL OF OUR FOOD. We strictly eat only organic food and we were told there was no organic food in the west ed area so I planned every meal and packed everything...and let me tell you...there were lists coming out the wazoo. I was organized and it all worked out and we had plenty of food to spare.

When we got to Edmonton we were tired of travelling for the day, we had two flights. So we decided to rest in our hotel. Chloe went out to see the new Hunger Game movie with her Uncle. Chloe got super sick but toughed it out and went on all the rides and did the water park like a champ.

The next day was BLACK FRIDAY so we went shopping in the West Edmonton Mall for a couple hours, ate lunch and then went to the water park. It wasn't very busy. We got lucky. Kyri slept on me while Tod, Chloe and Seth played in the wave pool. We went back to our hotel, I made dinner and we relaxed and watched Star wars. I didn't get much sleep that night or the night before. Kyri didn't like the crib so I let her sleep with us.

On Saturday morning we slept in and enjoyed our morning. We packed out lunches and then went back to the mall. The kids did the zipline and we ate lunch. Tod's sister and her family met up with us and we walked around the mall and then went to Galaxy Land for the rides. Seth and Cam had a blast together and Chloe and Julie did all the freaky rides together. Tod convinced me to go on the scary HUGE roller coaster and I did. My neck was killing me after. NEVER AGAIN....picture below. Kyri was getting a bit tired and I could tell she was getting a bit sick, coughing a bit so we went back to our hotel for a nap while Tod hung out with a friend and Chloe and Seth hung out with their cousins and saw the movie Frozen. We invited the family over for some bonding time and then we went to bed early.

Another sleepless night. The fire alarm went off in the hotel...that freaked me out. Tod said he went downstairs and the lobby was full of people in their PJs and Asian people raving out. I guess there was a wedding going on so people were dancing to techno music with glow sticks and drinking....I'm sure you get the picture. I told Tod it sounded like a bad dream! No fire though thank god.

We slept in until 9:30, packed and went home. We only had one flight this time, thank goodness, so we made it home in 2.5 hours. We picked up our dog from my parents and unpacked. Kyri was sick for 2 days and Chloe still has a sore throat and a nasty cough, Seth has a runny nose and Tod and I are taking oil of oregano as a precaution. Over all we had a blast! It was busy and non stop and tiring for me but the kids had such a great time and they made great memories and that is just what we wanted.
