HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 2014

Tod wanted me to recreate his favourite angel food cake so I that's what I did on the morning of December 31st! Sorry for all my vegan readers but this cake isn't vegan, yet! I just wanted to try to make a cake that tasted similar to the regular angel food cake but with quality ingredients, so no sugar or gluten. We used to eat angel food cake on Tod's birthday with fruit and whip cream but now that we know better we don't eat it anymore. I will post the recipe as soon as I get a chance. I only made one layer of this cake, decorated it and we ate my "tester" cake in 15 minutes, the four of us did. I didnt' want to make the whole three layers and have it fail!

Our New Years Eve was so nice and quiet at the house. We heard fire works go off a couple times before midnight but other then that it was peaceful. Seth rented Ernest Scared Stupid and was a bit freaked out by the trolls but he thought it was a good movie. Tod and I watched a couple episodes of Orange is the new Black (so good) and then we cuddled on the couch and watched TV and ate popcorn and drank Raspberry Citrus Kombucha. Chloe went to her moms house and Kyri was in bed so it was really just the two of us after 9pm. It was perfect.

This is my third New Years Eve not drinking alcohol and every year I smile waking up on New Years Day not hung over. I guess you could say that I am proud of myself. There is just so much hype about New Years, about partying, drinking and going crazy. A part of me misses it but I am 28 years old and although I feel young, I know that my family comes first and our health. I don't need to drink alcohol to have a good time. This is my choice and I'm going to stick to it. So this year Kombucha it is.

My new years resolution is to be a bit more social, with friends and family. I was a bit of a home body having a new baby in the house over the last year AND I want to start listening to more music, and dancing more! We love to dance in this house. Tod plays records all the time and we always boogie on down to the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack (my fav). How Deep is Your Love by the Bee Gees was our first dance song at our wedding. We love that soundtrack. I also want to really help people get on track with their health. If anyone asks that is.

I am looking forward this year to going to more health seminars and learning more healthy recipes to share with you. I love how health is my hobby and I hope you are enjoying reading my blog.

I hope all of you had a great and safe New Years Eve and Happy New Years to everyone. May 2014 bring everyone health, happiness and love!
